TITLE

Integrated analysis of gene mutations and expression signatures on extrathyroidal extension in papillary thyroid cancer

¡¡

ABSTRACT

Advances in diagnostic technology have increased the likelihood of early detection of thyroid cancer, the most common type of which is papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC). Although PTCs generally have a good prognosis, but a small proportion of cases has aggressive potential. Extrathyroidal extension (ETE) indicates invasiveness of the primary tumor into the adjacent tissue, and its importance as a prognostic factor overrides tumor size in determining the stage of thyroid cancer. The aim of this study was to determine the molecular basis of ETE using mutation and gene expression profile from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA).
