Lecture Title: Big Data-Driven Genetic Subtyping and Drug Repositioning in Alzheimer's Disease

Abstract:

Alzheimer's disease, a complex and devastating neurodegenerative disorder, continues to challenge the realms of medical research. This one-hour lecture, titled "Big Data-Driven Genetic Subtyping and Drug Repositioning in Alzheimer's Disease," delves into the transformative potential of harnessing big data in the genetic landscape of Alzheimer's for personalized subtyping and innovative drug repositioning. The introduction underscores the significance of studying Alzheimer's disease, emphasizing the critical role of genetic subtyping for interventions to individual patients. The integration of big data in genetics and multi-omics data is explored.

The genetic basis and known risk factors of Alzheimer's disease are discussed. This includes defining the characteristics of big data and addressing the challenges and opportunities associated with handling large-scale genetic data in existing studies. The lecture underscores the importance of large-scale genomic data in advancing our understanding of Alzheimer's disease. The focus then shifts to the critical realm of genetic subtyping in Alzheimer's disease. Genetic subtyping and genome guided drug repositioning is introduced, methods such as graph-based and clustering algorithms are explored, and the implications of subtypes on clinical correlations and personalized treatment strategies are discussed. The lecture concludes by outlining prospects and potential innovations. The transformative potential of big data-driven genetic subtyping and drug repositioning in advancing our understanding and treatment of Alzheimer's disease is underscored, providing a forward-looking perspective on the convergence of big data and Alzheimer's research.
