Title: Big Data, Big Opportunities - Systems Medicine of Human Microbiome

Abstract

Recently, the human gut microbiome was found to play a pivotal role in the regulation of host physiology, thereby recognized as our ¡°second genome¡±. For example, metabolic homeostasis can be regulated by the human microbiome, and for many parameters, the human microbiome is found to be more stronger determinant of metabolic status than host genetics factors. In addition, modulation of human gut microbiota can prevent the insulin resistance from a pre-diabetic status, and personalized diet guided by human microbiome profiles, and AI models, can also improve postprandial blood glucose response. Recent findings hold promise of the regulation of glucose metabolism by systems biology approaches based on human microbiome modulations. In this talk, the speaker will present recent systems biology approaches for human microbiome and recent studies from Korean populations. In this talk, future perspectives of precision medicine will be proposed in regard to personal multi-omics data clouds.
